The University of Popular Studies Oliver Sacks, hereinafter UNISACKS, is a Higher Education Institution [Accredited by the Department of Training and Education, Region of Sicily for the provision of Educational Services (Macrotype B, C and D) and Orientation ( CIR DDP977 - DDG 1048)], established pursuant to law no. 383 ("Discipline of associations for social promotion") which aims to "promote both university training (of various levels) and specialized professional training and scientific research [Presidential Decree of June 14, 2003, n. 135] ";

The University of Popular Studies "Oliver Sacks" (UNISACKS) was founded in January 2018 by researchers and professionals in the socio-health, psycho-social and economic-legal sectors, with a single seat located in Bagheria, Palermo, in Via Bernardo Mattarella n. ° 109.

UNISACKS is associated with the C.N.U.P.I. (National Confederation of Italian Popular Universities), a body with legal personality recognized by the Ministry of Education, University and Research with D.M. 21.05.1991, published in the Official Gazette on 30.8.1991 under no. 203. The right to use the name "Popular University" is available to the members of C.N.U.P.I. based on the approval of the Statute of the latter by the Council of State (Second Section, 6.2.1991).

The UNISACKS Popular University is registered in the National Research Registry at the M.I.U.R. with definitive identification code ANR-MIUR: 62196SNG [Prot. n. ° 188, of 19/12/2016].

The “Oliver Sacks” is ACCREDITED as a Member of the Labor Commission, at the European Parliament, registration number: 9 6 3 5 1 8 5 2 4 7 4 2 - 9 1 of 27/11/2016.

She is enrolled in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education's (EQAR) Program, 04 April 2017.

In addition, Oliver Scaks University is registered in the European Register of Tertiary Education (ETER) - European Commission.

The U.P. UNISACKS is registered in the Transparency Register of the Ministry of Economic Development (MISE), identification number: 2018-48891822-19 of 29/01/2018.

In addition, in October 2020 with D.D.G.n. ° 733, ITALIAN REPUBLIC, SICILIAN REGION - DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, HEALTH ACTIVITIES AND EPIDEMIOLOGICAL OBSERVATORY DEPARTMENT, Service 2 Training - UNISACKS receives ECM PROVIDER accreditation decree with identification number ID 640.

Oliver Sacks University offers its members a wide range of didactic-training activities, pursuing exclusively the aims of "1st, 2nd and 3rd level higher education activities (EQF 2, 3, 4, 5 Level), post university, masters and advanced courses, "ECM" professional refresher courses, advanced training and scientific research [DPR June 14, 2003, n. 135

L’ Università degli Studi Popolare Oliver Sacks, di seguito UNISACKS, è un Ente di Alta Formazione [Accreditato dall'Assessorato alla Formazione e Istruzione, Regione SIcilia per l’erogazione di Servizi Formativi (Macrotipologie B, C e D) e di Orientamento (CIR DDP977 - DDG 1048)], costituito ai sensi della legge 7 dicembre 2000, n. 383 ( “Disciplina delle associazioni di promozione sociale” ) che ha come scopo “promuovere attività di formazione sia universitaria (di vario livello) sia di formazione professionale specialistica e di ricerca scientifica [D.P.R. del 14 giugno 2003, n. 135]”;

L’Università degli Studi Popolare “Oliver Sacks" (UNISACKS) viene fondata nel mese di gennaio dell'anno 2018 da ricercatori e professionisti del settore socio-sanitario, psico-sociale ed economico-giuridica, con sede unica sita in Bagheria, Palermo, in Via Bernardo Mattarella n.° 109.

UNISACKS è associata alla C.N.U.P.I. (Confederazione Nazionale delle Università Popolari Italiane), Ente con personalità giuridica riconosciuto dal Ministero dell'Istruzione, dell'Università e della Ricerca con D.M. 21.05.1991, pubblicato sulla Gazzetta Ufficiale in data 30.8.1991 al n. 203. Il diritto di fregiarsi della denominazione "Università Popolare" è fruibile dalle associate C.N.U.P.I. in base all'approvazione dello Statuto di quest’ultima da parte del Consiglio di Stato (Sezione Seconda, 6.2.1991).

L'Università Popolare UNISACKS è iscritta all'Anagrafe Nazionale delle Ricerche presso il M.I.U.R. con codice definitivo identificativo ANR-MIUR: 62196SNG [Prot. n.° 188, del 19/12/2016].

La “Oliver Sacks” è 'ACCREDITATA in qualità di Membro Commissione Lavoro, presso il Parlamento Europeo, n.° identificativo Registro: 9 6 3 5 1 8 5 2 4 7 4 2 - 9 1 del 27/11/2016.

Inoltre l’Università Oliver Scaks è iscritta al Registro Europeo dell'Istruzione Terziaria (ETER) - European Commission.

L'U.P. UNISACKS risulta essere iscritta al Registro di Trasparenza del Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico (MISE), numero identificativo: 2018-48891822-19 del 29/01/2018.

Nel mese di Ottobre 2020 inoltre con D.D.G.n.° 733, REPUBBLICA ITALIANA, REGIONE SICILIANA - ASSESSORATO DELLA SALUTE, DIPARTIMENTO ATTIVITA’ SANITARIE ED OSSERVATORIO EPIDEMIOLOGICO, Servizio 2 Formazione - la UNISACKS riceve decreto accreditamento ECM PROVIDER con numero identificativo ID 640.

La Oliver Sacks University propone ai suoi associati un ampio ventaglio di attività didattico-formative, perseguendo esclusivamente finalità di “attività di formazione superiore di 1°, 2° e 3° livello (EQF 2, 3, 4, 5 Level), formazione post universitaria, master e corsi di perfezionamento, corsi di aggiornamento professionale "ECM", di alta formazione e ricerca scientifica [D.P.R. 14 giugno 2003, n. 135]”.
